Search Targets lets you manage the federated search targets associated with a specific search source on your system. A search target is an individual database hosted by a specific federated search source. You can add new search targets, or edit or delete existing search targets. You can also test the connection for a specific search target to verify that it can successfully connect to the search source, and assign a specific search target to a search profile. Assigning a search target to a specific search profile makes it available for patrons to search when they access that search profile.

You can sort the Search Target List by clicking the column heading of the information by which you want to sort. (For example, click the “Name” column to sort the list by name.) When you click the column heading the first time, the software sorts the information in the list in ascending order by the column heading. If you click the column heading a second time, the software sorts information in the list in descending order by the column heading. When you click a column heading, the software displays a sort arrow to the right of the column name that indicates whether the data is being sorted in ascending ( ) or descending ( ) order.
